BHSI Members - Profile of Baile, Clifton

Our laboratory has broad interests in the molecular basis of energy balance regulation and growth. Our research includes various aspects of the control of feeding behavior and energy balance regulation by the central nervous system and adipose tissue. The roles of leptin and growth hormone in these functions are of particular interest. Biotechnology tools, including the development of transgenic animals, are utilized to study the molecular basis of these systems of animal physiology.
